"Con-Man", "Anna Rose", and their "Forever Baby" Micah Allan who was born still on December 17th, 2005.
Objective:
My career will be
one involving the written word and all that it encompasses. Whether it invokes a want or a need as in advertising or
creates desire in literature. I may change the world someday with my thought provoking articles or just enhance one person’s
life with my stories. I may make millions designing the writing the copy of an ad campaign for a household name or just become
famous in my small town writing the slogan for the local grocery store. All that I am certain is that I will, in some way,
be a part of the vast written field.
Education: Most of what I have learned has been through independent research and
study. I continue to read anything and everything that contains information about writing, from basic grammar workbooks to
writer’s magazines. I have spent countless hours online looking up various sites specifically aimed towards my career
choice and taken a few of the free internet courses attempting to improve and strengthen my freelancing skills.
Employment:
2004-Present
Full-time Freelance Writer
Following the birth of my second child, I have been freelancing from home. The experience gained from this as been
invaluable. I have learned how to balance my duties as homemaker and stay at home mom with those of my writing career. My
abilities of precise, independent researching and meeting fast, hard deadlines have been strengthened with each assignment
I finish.
In
addition to freelancing for a few companies online, I started my own website: Angela's Freelance Fashion & Beauty which
offers information and advice. It is located at http://angelasfreelancefashion.com
June 2003-Aug. 2004 Office Manager, Heart To Hands Massage & Tan
In addition to the usual office duties of filing, phones and paperwork; I gained proficient computer skills using such
programs as Quickbooks, Quicken, Microsoft Word/Works, Expert Forms and Medi-Soft.
I learned the process of layouts through the use of Print Artist 15, having a hand in the designing of the company’s
different forms of advertisement (mainly brochures and mailings). I was solely responsible for the creation of one of the
more popular brochures containing the company’s various services and prices. I was also the contact person for the various
phone book advertisements the company had in place.
This
position taught me the fundamentals of moving a business to a new location with an established client base in the massage
portion and gaining new customers when expanding by offering new services (tanning). This companies website can be found at
